Barack and Michelle Obama Middle School

This project consisted of polishing a combination of new and existing concrete surfaces throughout multiple areas of the school, including hallways, classrooms, and the cafeteria. In total, 15,173 square feet of concrete flooring was polished to a high standard. The project was finished on schedule prior to the school’s opening.

A key focus of the project was achieving a consistent aggregate exposure and uniform sheen across both new and existing concrete. Through the use of in-house labor, the team maintained strong quality control and flexibility, allowing adjustments as needed to meet the project’s performance and visual requirements. The foreman’s high level of attention to detail played a critical role in delivering consistent results across all polished areas.

The finished floors provide a durable, low-maintenance, and visually enhanced solution well suited for a high-traffic educational environment. Despite the tight timeline, the project was completed successfully with no punch list items, reflecting the team’s efficiency, craftsmanship, and commitment to quality.
