Buffalo High School Weight Room
Project Description
The project focused on restoring the integrity and levelness of the existing flooring by removing all damaged and crumbling concrete, correcting low and uneven areas, and installing a high-quality Schönox cementitious overlayment. This process created a smooth, durable, and even surface that met the height and flatness requirements necessary for the new flooring installation.
To accommodate existing gym equipment and minimize disruption, the project was completed in two phases. The first phase allowed us to prep and pour the concrete floor, allowing it to cure for seven days before relocating the lifting equipment and completing the remaining half. Careful planning, coordination, and scheduling ensured the phased approach stayed on track and aligned with the overall project timeline.
The precision application of the overlayment resulted in a flat, uniform surface that required no additional preparation prior to the final flooring installation. The project was completed on time and on budget, allowing the new floor to be ready before the start of the school year, ensuring a successful outcome for all parties involved!
